Our Programs

Youth and Women Empowerment

Youth and women empowerment is crucial for the growth and development of any community. At the Centre for Sustainable Development (CSD), we are committed to making a positive impact by investing in the future through community development projects, training programs, volunteer opportunities, and internships. Our partnerships with academia and the private sector allow us to provide valuable resources and support for young people and women, helping them to reach their full potential.

Sustainable Community Engagement Program

Centre for Sustainable Development, we believe in a local approach to development that puts communities at the center of identifying their own needs and making decisions that will help them become self-reliant and resilient. CSD to achieve this, we begin by mobilizing and organizing communities and forming village-level communities (VDCs).

Education and Learning Program

Program aims to mobilize donor and philanthropic resources for the construction of schools; use of technology to improve teaching and learning, and organizing competitions and events to attract children towards learning. Centre for Sustainable Development (CSD) promotes SMCs as the vehicle to implement the program and builds community-Government partnership through them to achieve the sector objective.

Health, and Nutrition Program

In stimulating the national agenda of the Government of Pakistan, Centre for Sustainable Development has led the Pakistan approach for total sanitation (PATS) and School-led total sanitation (SLTS) approaches to eradicate open defecation. A few novel initiatives include the celebrations of hand washing days, health and hygiene training for the communities in every project, sanitation marks, construction of diverse infrastructure, and participation in the policy dialogue at provincial, national and global platforms and networks.

Climate Change Program

Another important aspect of the Centre for Sustainable Development work is in the area of disaster risk reduction. The program is working to build resilience in communities so that they are better able to cope with the impacts of climate change, such as floods and heat waves. This includes providing training and education on disaster risk reduction and emergency preparedness, as well as investing in infrastructure and other measures to reduce the risks associated with extreme weather events.

Disaster Risk Reduction Program

Pakistan is a country that is prone to a variety of natural disasters, including earthquakes, floods, and cyclones. These disasters can have devastating effects on communities, causing loss of life, damage to infrastructure, and displacement of people. It is crucial that the country is prepared to handle these emergencies and mitigate their impacts as much as possible.
